We’re Kiwis from Queenstown New Zealand
We are a twosome from Down Under, wandering the world one adventure after another. Or perhaps better described as a couple of fifty something Kiwis “practising” regular travels to all parts of the world.
Either way we are always planning the next trip. From driving a 31ft RV in the USA to hiking the Inca Trail we will give anything a go once.

Hotel on Wheels – Luxury for a couple of months in the USA parked here in the Valley of Fire near Las Vegas
We will take you on our travel journey with tales, fun and frivolity that we encounter on our way. You will meet the people of the world, get to know our friends and you will share the sights, sounds, smells and tastes we come across.
Our hometown, Queenstown New Zealand, a desired travel destination for many and our site will give some “local knowledge” to plan your adventure here too.
You can travel through New Zealand and the World in your armchair or start packing and go too. Read lodging and dining ideas and reviews. Discover new adventures and learn our trip planning, packing and research strategies. Check out our photos and videos on Google Photos and You Tube. Find out about gear and travel products too. Everything we post is aimed to help and inspire you to get out there, travel and enjoy everything about our amazing world.
So grab your chair, or backpack and boots and travel with us.

Jo and Des
Exploring the world started when Jo spent her life savings to travel to Noumea at age 16. A French introduction to croissants, pastis, beaches, hotels and gorgeous French guys are the most vivid memories. ( Des is of french descent!) It was there the travel bug infested itself, and no matter of medicine is going to make that go away. Since then I have cruised on the QEII, been to South Africa and other short luxury trips to places like New York, Singapore, Hawaai and Canada.
To say our travel style has changed in the last 10 years would be an understatement. We now realise that hotels are the same the world over and short trips are not as much fun.

A Travel Bloggers Office – Venice Style
Today our travel is long, slow and immersed in locality and cultural experiences. We would rather find lodgings similar to, and in a neighbourhood where the local people live. We love to connect and learn about their lives.
Jo also likes to have a good knowledge of the culture and sights before they go. They both have a love of photography, hiking and driving down mysterious looking ‘side roads’.
Des is our “driver extraordinaire” and has safely driven us over 16,000 miles in USA and Europe. He is also known to go everywhere he is told is too dangerous to go!

always on the look out for buffalos on the road!
I LOVE to read maps, plot routes, make lists, study stuff and give driver directions, although a trusty GPS nicknamed “Gerald” is always on hand to help out.
Although this site is mainly written by Jo, there are plenty of remarks, technical help and support from my travel buddy and significant other, Des.
Our purpose for this site is to share what we learn along the way with other fellow globetrotters and travellers. If we can help inspire you to provide some useful information for your travels we will be happy.
